Say hi to Dorabella – Dora for short. She’s a 35ft gentleman’s cruiser boat who was designed by Eric French in Poole and built by the Elkins boatyard in Christchurch some time in the 1940’s. I think. I’m still researching this one. She has a mahogany carvel hull and a teak top.

I bought Dora in Spring 2018 and am in the process of restoring her, discovering her history and converting her into a full time houseboat.

Oh – and her sister boat, Mada, was one of the Dunkirk little boats. Which is pretty cool. Maybe Dora was there too…
